German WWII Cased Eagle Order 1st Class by Godet-This 1939 Order of the German Eagle Neck Cross by Godet Co. was a diplomatic and honorary award given to prominent foreigners, particularly diplomats. This gorgeous neck cross is made of a multi-piece construction. It shows a Maltese cross in gilded silver and well preserved white enamel. This is surrounded by four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) between the arms of the cross; these are each holding an enameled swastika. This is stamped on suspension eyelet “900” and “21”. There is a beautiful piece of correct ribbon. This measures 50.6 mm high by 50.3 mm wide. The red case is also very good. There are sight scuffs to corners and side, but the embossed golden eagle and red covering, and gold trim is in good condition. The black velvet flocking and off-white sateen under the lid is very clean and damage free. The hinge and clasp work as they should. The case is also very well marked under the lid. This is a very good offering!
