German WWII Heer Four Ribbon Bar-This is a bar that would have been by an army veteran that served on the Eastern front. The first ribbon is the Iron cross 2nd class, the second ribbon is the Eastern Front or Frozen Meat Medal (Ostmedaille) that would have been given to all participants (military and civilian) who served during the harsh winter campaign in Russia between November 15, 1941, and April 15, 1942. The third and fourth cornflower blue ribbons with army eagle cyphers are long service awards. These would be a 12 year and a 4 year based on the gold eagle, and the silver eagle (on the last ribbon). This last eagle has since lost its original silver finish. The remaining zinc has toned to a brassy color that looks gold. This ribbon bar is backed with a gray wool felt that is in place. The long pin functions as intended. Overall, a nice looking Army ribbon bar for an Eastern front veteran.
