German WWII Army Officer’s Visor Cap for Pioneer-This is a private purchase example. This great looking cap is produced in very soft, good quality wool that is near excellent with just the slightest hint of wear and discoloration. There is black wool piping around the top panel and on the top and bottom of the dark green badge cloth center band. It has a high, prominent peak. There is a beautifully toned, silver eagle w/swastika. This retains the majority of its matte brushed aluminum silver finish. The cockade is also beautifully toned. The brushed aluminum matches the eagle perfectly, as does the cockade with it’s red felt bulls eye. The officers silver bullion double chin cord is in great condition. It is affixed to the cap by a pair of nickel silver finished pebbled aluminum buttons. The vulkanfibre visor is in great condition. The underside of the visor is finished in a gray hue. The interior is fully lined in light beige rayon that is in fantastic condition. There is a rhomboid shaped, clear moisture shield with the nomenclature of the maker, Josef Nennhuber & Co who was a cap maker, especially of visor caps during the war. The cap is a size 56. The light gray leather sweatband is excellent and shows only the slightest wear. The other really cool thing about this cap, is that the owner has his initials inside on the sweatband, there are small pins with the initials LB. Excellent!
