German WWII Railroad Conductors Visor Cap-This is an “as found” visor cap. This would be worn by a Third Reich train conductor. Be aware that the visor is loose on this example, and the central support is damaged, giving this cap a flat shape. This visor cap is produced in red wool that does show a few moth nips and tracking. There is a black velvet center band and red piping. The eagle is the small zinc M-29 style which has lost its original gilt. The cockade is aluminum. There is a black vulkanfiber visor has moderate fading. The top panel of the interior is brownish orange oil cloth. The moisture shield is diamond shaped but is completely missing. The sweatband is ersatz leather. It is very stiff, is stained, and has moderate tearing. The cap is a size 58. Again, in as found condition. Would make a nice representative display.
