Model 1891 Infantry Pickelhaube-This is a black leather helmet that has beautiful brass fittings. This is a Model 1891, with this style being in use up until WWI. This would be for enlisted ranks. This has a body of black patent leather. There is some minor age crazing and fading but this looks really good considering the age. This has the distinctive Koenig (frontal plate) with the crowned eagle in the center. This has been re-attached at one point, this plate is made of brass, and you can see how it has been re-attached with two large bolts. The spike, spike base plate, spine trim and front visor trim are all brass as well. This is in very good condition overall. There is a black leather chinstrap with brass buckles that are all in fine condition. The cockades are both in place. The leather liner is in decent condition, remains intact and very soft. The leather drawstring is cut, so needs to be repaired should you desire to do so. There is an ink stamp on the rear visor with a number and a date of 1912. This is a great looking and scarcely found example!
