Third Reich German Gendarmerie Rural Police Officer Visor Cap-This is for a rural police (gendarmerie) officer. It is named inside. It is produced in blue green wool that is excellent. There is very minor wear and discoloration only. This cap has a pair of mesh ventilation grommets on each side, nice. The orange piping is for rural police. There are a few moth nips on the underside of the piping. The center band is light chocolate brown badge cloth, showing minor discoloration only. The insignia is excellent, retaining all of the finish. The eagle and wreath are in the officer style i.e. two piece. The chin strap is a double bullion officer style. The visor is black vulkanfibre, showing minor fading and crazing only. The underside is green and cross hatched. The top panel of the interior is lined in orange brown oil cloth while the sides are orange brown cloth. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield that has a paper name tag in the slot, this reads Flegel. Unfortunately, the sweatband is missing. Otherwise, a great cap!
