Third Reich Land Customs Officials Visor Cap-This private purchase cap is of a very nice quality. It is produced in soft green wool that is in fine condition. The wearer removed the stiffening rings so it is very pliable and a bit out of shape but looks fine on a head. There is dark green piping around the top panel as well as the upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band. The insignia consists of an aluminum Land Customs eagle with a silver bullion wreath and an aluminum cockade. The chin cord is green cloth with silver flat wire woven throughout. The black vulkanfibre visor has moderate crazing and wear. The underside is lightly cross hatched and finished in an orange brown hue. The interior is fully lined in orange brown cloth. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield with maker nomenclature on it that reads “Otto Schlientz-Uniformmützen, Straubing”. The sweatband is tan ersatz leather with minor wear only remaining very clean. There is a tear on one side as it is a bit stiff. The cap is a size 57. Near excellent overall!
