Third Reich Schutzpolizei Officer Visor Cap, Named-This cap has a few liabilities. The center post in the interior is broken, so this is misshapen and needs to be reshaped. It is produced in blue green wool that is in good condition, with minor wear and discoloration only. The green piping is for schutzpolizei (municipal) police. The center band is chocolate brown badge cloth and has three small holes. The insignia is excellent, and retains almost all of the original finish. It is in the style of the other ranks insignia which is very common to find on police officer caps. The chin strap is a double bullion officer style. The visor is black vulkanfibre, showing minor fading and crazing only. The underside is orange brown and cross hatched and shows some discoloration. The top panel of the interior is lined in golden brown rayon while the sides are golden brown cloth. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield that is maker stamped and has a paper name tag in the slot, this reads Paul Hellwig Halle. Near this is a name of Markfeld handwritten on a small paper tag. The tan ersatz leather sweatband is very stiff with moderate wear and tear. The cap is a size 57. Overall, good condition! Bargain price based on condition.
