WWII German Army Artillery Other Ranks Visor Cap-This example is produced in tricot woven, field gray wool. It is clean but there are several small moth holes plus a significant hole at the underside of the back of the cap. The red artillery piping is mostly intact with a few extremely tiny moth nips. The center band is dark green badge cloth. It has wear and discoloration to the back of it. The insignia consists of an aluminum eagle that is stitched on (prongs are broken) and wreath with most of the original silver finish along with an aluminum cockade with a red felt bulls eye. The chinstrap is black patent leather and fully intact. The visor is black vulkanfibre with minor crazing. The underside is crosshatched and finished in an orange brown hue. The interior is fully lined in orange brown cloth. It has minor wear and discoloration from use. The moisture shield is rhomboid shaped and fully intact. The size is stamped underneath, 56. The sweatband is orange brown ersatz leather. There are a few tears and spots where it is separated from the cap. It is maker marked and dated 1939 on the underside. A sound example!
