History: These cigarette scrapbooks were popular in Germany from the 1930s to the end of the party movement in the 1940s. They are the product of a collaborative project of the NSDAP and the Cigarette Picture Service in Hamburg and would typically come as a blank picture album. When a customer bought a certain brand of cigarettes, a coupon would be issued that the buyer could send to the company and get a pack of pictures that could be glued into the book. After filling the book, the family would have a complete pictorial history of NSDAP’s struggle to power.
