German WWI Imperial Army Buckle from Saxony-This is a handsome brass two piece example. The details to the crown, and the motto "PROVIDENTIAE MEMOR" are very strong. There is a dent to the center of the rondel, in the heart of the crown. The motto translates to “Remember Providence". This is not the usual motto we see, but this was on buckles for the Kingdom of Saxony (part of Imperial Germany, 1871-1918). This buckle is in very good condition. The rondel remains nice and shiny, and the brass body has a great copper tone to it. This would be worn by both enlisted men, and NCOs. The catch has been resoldered on, so please be sure to look at the photos. Overall, it is very good and priced to sell.
