German WWII RAD Enlisted Man’s Buckle-This is made of a pressed aluminum. It has the pebbled field, with the center RAD motif of the spade with swastika in a wreath of wheat. The obverse shows moderate wear, and you can see that someone wore the heck out of this buckle. If you look at the spade, you can see that it shows buffing from being worn. It is not bad, but you can see the edges of the spade are worn down. The details on the wheat shafts are very nice. On the reverse, inside the shovel, is the stylized “A” logo, the maker mark of F. W. Assmann & Söhne in Ludenscheid. Next to it, is the date “36.” If you like a piece that shows it was part of the war, then this is the piece for you. It is well worn, with a lot of character. It needs a good home!
