German WWII Signed Photo of Knight’s Cross Winner Erich Beine- Beine was a highly decorated major in the Fallschirmjäger. He distinguished himself fighting throughout Italy in 1944. On the March 19th of ’44, he succeeded in dealing a finishing blow to an Allied penetration in the sector of the II./Sturm-Regiment, and for this he was later recognized this in an order by the divisional commander. In mid-July of 1944 he led another successful counterthrust that received commendation by his commanding general, namely General der Flieger Schlemm. He would go on to distinguish himself yet again during the later combat around Florence and in the Apennine mountains. This black and white photos measures 4 ½ inches (11.43cm) tall and 3 ½ inches ((8.89cm) cm) wide. There is s small signature attached to the lower portion of the photo. Someone has written the name Beine on the reverse of the photo.
