German WWII Signed Photo of Knight’s Cross Winner Pilot Wilhelm “Willi” Braun-Let me tell you this guy in this photograph looks like he just came out of central casting, he could play himself in the movie of his life! Wilhelm Braun ultimately participated in a total of 467 combat sorties over the Eastern front (counted as 505 front flights). He served in KG 55 (Kampfgeschwader 55) which was one of the longest serving bomber units in the Luftwaffe. He was awarded the knights cross after participating in over 400 bombing sorties. By this time, he had assisted in the destruction of 11 tanks, 236 trucks, 8 transport, 5 fuel and 2 ammunition trains, several ammunition/fuel depots and a number of smaller merchant vessels. This photo measures 5 inches (12.7cm) tall by 3 ½ inches (8.89cm) wide. It is in very good condition.
