German WWII Silver Autobahn Cigarette Case-This is a very cool silver cigarette case with the map of Germany on the front. This case measures 3 inch (7.62cm) wide by 4 ¼ inch (10.79cm) long. It is just about 3/8 inch (.9cm) thick. It opens with a spring-loaded catch and on one side there is an elastic strap to hold your cigarettes safely inside. The entire front of the case depicts a map of the German Autobahn. It is cool because you can still see that Germany is still separated by the Polish Corridor but including the western part of the former Czechoslovakia. It shows the entire Reichsautobahn system as of about the fall of 1938. The map has a sidebar on the right differentiating those sections of the Autobahn in use, under construction and in the planning stage. This is in very good condition, and a great piece of Autobahn history. Remember the Reichsautobahn was almost considered the 8th wonder of the world when it was being put in place during Hitler’s reign.
