Published in 1999 this 144 page book is richly illustrated. It discusses 14 classic American combat aircraft, plus the wartime experiences of the brave men who flew them. We see such aircraft as the B-17, B-24 and B-29, of which nearly 35,000 were built; the medium bombers such as the B-25 Mitchell; and the many types of fighters, including the P-51 Mustang and the F4F Wildcat. The second book is the hardcover, Aces Past by Christopher Shores and Patrick Bunce. This large photo book was published in 1991 and has 150 pages filled with photographs. This book celebrates classic aircraft in full large format color photos. Both books are in very good condition.
