The Age of Firearms: A Pictorial History by Robert Held-This is a large format hardcover book. It measures 12 ½ inches (31.75cm) tall by 9 ½ inches (24.13cm) wide. This book was published in 1957 and contains 191 pages. This is a comprehensive study on firearms, starting from the 13th century when gunpowder was first invented up to the early 1900’s when metal guns were mass produced. If you have any interest in early firearms, this is the book for you. It contains over 200 woodcuts, etching, photographs and illustrations. It discusses and shows photos of some very rare guns that are still stored in the Tower of London as well as many private collections. The book is in very good condition. The dust cover has some major shelf folding, and a few tears, but the book itself is clean. Someone has written their name on the first page, but when you look at how nice his penmanship is, it won’t bother you as much. Overall, this is a comprehensive book on the history of handguns.
