Unique Hand Carved US Paratrooper Wooden Statue-This is a intricate hand carved wooden paratrooper, holding all of his gear. This type of folk art was ironically very popular in the Black Forest area of Germany. This paratrooper has terrific details. He is 19 ½ inches (49.53cm) tall, and weighs 4 pounds (1.8kg). The base is carved and is part of the statue, he is not separately attached to the base. This is made out of a hardwood, I’m not sure what type. There is a slight crack in the base, but this should not be a problem, he is a sturdy fellow. This is a gorgeous piece of folk art and a great looking display item.
