Breitling Aviation Watch-This is just cool. Breitling has been making AVI watches forever, and they are still at it. This is a classic fighter pilot’s personal watch. Shilla “Shea” Makakis told his daughter Betty that he won this watch in a card game sometime in 1944. We have a copy of an original photo of “Shea” in his training uniform while stationed with the US Army. This is Shea’s watch, it is a fighter pilot’s watch, marked on the reverse with serial number 586850. It is the premier model 760, with art deco numbers and a luminous face. The pebbled brown leather wrist band has seen some moderate wear, but is still beautifully toned. The classic Breitling buckles are in place and though they do have slight verdigris. This watch is a hand wind, and it is currently working just fine. The face of the watch does have some toning and some slight scratches to the glass, but overall, this is a classic example of a vintage flight watch…P.S. This Shea is not a relative.
