Third Reich Model 1940 Double Decal Police Helmet-This was originally a no decal helmet that had the police decals applied POST WAR. They are real decals, but they were applied post war by a collector. Now that that is out of the way, we can tell you that the rough texture field grey finish is mostly intact. The interior features a brown leather liner that is in very good condition aside from some minor scuffing and discoloration. There are a few different names written onto it. It is a size 58 and there is a drawstring. The zinc liner band is maker marked, dated 1940 and size stamped 66/58. The side of the interior is stamped Q 66 indicating production by Quist in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number S1448. A good example priced to sell!
