WWII German Model 1935 Army Double Decal Helmet, Named-This handsome example has a smoothly applied, dark apple green finish that remains 80% intact or so. The army decal on the left side is excellent, remaining 95% or more intact with a light toning. The tri color shield is also in great condition with toning and checking in at 95% or more. The interior features a brown leather, size stamped 56 liner that shows some minor wear, fading and scuffing from use. It is still very soft and has a drawstring. There is a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 64/56. The soldier stamped his name and home city onto the front of the liner, “Georg Eckersberger, Schwabach”. The side of the interior is stamped SE 64 indicating production by Sachsische Emaillerwerke in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 4088. The initials “G.E.” are written in pencil onto the skirt. The original brown leather chinstrap is in great condition. Very nice!
