WWII German Model 1935 Wehrmacht Reissue Camouflage Helmet, Named-This interesting example started life as a double decal parade helmet with a smooth finish. At some point the exterior was camouflaged with a heavy green zimmeritt finish that remains mostly intact. You can still see where the decal are underneath the finish. There is a bullet hole in the lower skirt at the back. The size 56 brown leather liner is still fairly soft, with some wear and discoloration from use. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band (from when it was reissued) that is maker marked, dated 1940 and size stamped 64/56. The side of the interior is stamped EF 64 indicating production by Emaillerwerke of Fulda in the size of 64. I cannot read the lot number. The rear skirt has a painted name and rank that reads Ogfr. Schmerbach. There is a really neat US M1 chinstrap that was added and is partially intact. An interesting example!
