WWII US M1 Helmet with Paratrooper Liner-This is an interesting example. It is a front seam, fixed bale WWII shell. The exterior shell is in good condition with original paint and only a few small dings. There is a private rank stripe at the front, hand painted over previous insignia. The chinstraps are OD 3 with brass hardware. These are not for a paratrooper helmet i.e. no snaps. The Westinghouse paratrooper liner was repainted for use post WWII. There are a few small cracks in the shell. The suspension is OD 3 with a brown leather sweatband, all in good overall condition. The paratrooper straps are dark green canvas and the buckle for the straps is a late WWII cast unit. The name and ASN are painted in white inside the liner. Since it says “RA” in the ASN, we know that this is post October of 1945. The leather chinstrap is missing. Overall, a sound example!
