German WWII Postcard of Räumboote-The Räumboote, or “R-Boote” were mass-produced wooden-built German coastal minesweepers. In time, they also performed other missions, notably escorts, ASW and rescue, as well as laying mines. They were sleek line boats that were perfect for the coastline. They were the perfect boat to sweep for mines, and lay mines as well. This postcard shows a flotilla of three of these R-boats. The postcard is in very good condition. It measures 5 ½ inches (13.97 cm) long by 3 ½ inches (8.89 cm) wide. The reverse is captioned and set up in traditional postcard style. It is very clean.
