Third Reich Fire Police NCO Tunic and Trouser Set-This is a great set, both to the same fire police NCO. It is of course a private purchase set. The tunic is produced in blue green wool that is excellent aside from some extremely minor wear and discoloration. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. The breast pockets are pleated. There is an 8 button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled metal. The collar and cuffs are brown badge cloth. The front and lower edges of the collar, the edge of the cuffs, the edges of the closure seam and the tail are all piped in purple. The collar tabs are purple cloth with NCO tresse columns and silver bullion twist rope piping. The sew in shoulder boards are brown cloth with silver flat wire braid around the edges, interwoven with brown cloth v’s. There are two silver finished metal pips on each. These are for the rank of hauptwachtmeister, equivalent to a master sergeant. There are loops for a single badge, a WWI vaulted EKI is included. Also seen are loops for a medal bar, included is one with a police long service medal plus two Anschluss medals. The left sleeve has a machine embroidered fire police sleeve eagle that is in great condition. There is also a Freikorps Ritter von Epp sleeve diamond. It has a tombak disc with a roaring lion. Very nice. The interior is fully lined in green rayon. There is a vertical pocket on the left side. There is a tailor tag plus a small tag with the initials of the owner, E.B. The tailor is “Bulag” of Munich. There is a collar liner. The jacket is a size large. The straight legged trousers are produced in a slightly different color of blue green wool. They are in great condition. They are piped down each leg in fire police purple. There are vertical slash cut hip pockets, a single rear pocket with a scalloped flap and a watch pocket. There is a cinch strap in the rear. There is a four button fly with a metal hook and loop closure at the waist. The interior has the exact same owner tag stitched to it, reading E.B. The trousers are in 44” length and the waist is a size 36. There is a copy of a photo of a group of police officers. One has the Freikorps insignia on the sleeve. Is it this exact same one? Not sure but it looks the same! Great condition and desirable!
