WWII German Army Artillery NCO Waffenrock-This is a private purchase walking out dress tunic for an army artillery NCO. The tunic is produced in a high quality, soft field grey wool. There are multiple small areas of wear, tracking, moth nips and discoloration. Overall it looks good. There is an eight button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled metal. The collar and French cuffs are dark green badge cloth. Each side of the closure seam is piped in red as is the front and lower edges of the collar, the French cuffs and the tail. The collar has NCO tresse at the front and upper edge. The tabs are red badge cloth with silver tresse columns. The sew in shoulder boards are green badge cloth with red piping and silver NCO tresse around the entire perimeter. Also seen are a pair of pips and a cipher for the number 9. This indicates that this was for an oberfeldwebel of the 9th Artillery regiment. The hand applied officer style eagle is silver bullion with bright silver highlights over dark green badge cloth. There are loops on the left side for two awards and a medium ribbon or medal bar. These are originally applied. Each cuff has tabs of red badge cloth with silver NCO tresse columns. The lower right sleeve has a large green badge cloth patch with gold bullion crossed rifles and silver metallic twist rope. This is for a weapons specialist. The interior is fully lined in green rayon that has minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a single pocket on the left side. There is a waist belt with a plated metal buckle. There is a slot for an edged weapon but this never had a strap. This tunic is a size medium. Very good overall!
