WWII German Army Infantry Officer Model 1936 Dress Tunic-This is a very nice private purchase example for a captain of the 12th Infantry. There is minor wear, minor discoloration and a few very tiny moth nips to the soft, field grey wool. This has a five button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled metal. There are French cuffs and a dark green badge cloth collar. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. The collar tabs are dark green badge cloth with matte silver bullion columns and (discolored) white litzen. The sew in shoulder boards are matte silver flat wire over a white badge cloth backing. Each has a pair of pips and #12 ciphers. The rank is hauptmann or captain. The breast eagle is silver bullion with bright silver flat wire highlights over green badge cloth. It is a great looking example. There are loops for two badges plus a medium sized ribbon bar. One loop is missing. There is a ribbon for the War Merit Cross in the button hole. The interior is fully lined in green rayon that is in fine condition, having extremely minor wear and discoloration from age and use. There is a strap with a plated metal clip plus a slot for an edged weapon. There is a single pocket on the right side. This is a size large. A handsome example in very good overall condition!
