WWII German Late War Combat Tunic for Army Artillery Captain-This tunic is dated 1944! Very late and the first I’ve seen. The insignia is all replaced but original stuff. The tunic is produced in field grey wool that is in good condition with minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a repair to the right side where the collar attaches. There is a six button closure and all buttons are the blue grey finished pebbled metal late war style. There are four plain pockets with straight flaps. The officer style collar tabs are matte grey vbullion with red litzen over dark green badge cloth. The sew in shoulder boards are a matte grey flat wire over red badge cloth with two pips on each, indicating an artillery captain. The breast eagle (a ghost of an original one is seen) is an NCO style, machine woven in grey over light green and a dark green underlay. As mentioned, all insignia is reapplied by a collector. There is a ribbon for the EKII in the button hole. There are loops for two badges on the left side plus loops for a small ribbon bar above the pocket, with a ribbon bar included as shown. There are two metal belt hooks. The interior is partially lined in brownish gold rayon. There is a bandage pocket on the right side. Size stamps are seen just above this pocket as well as “H 44” indicating 1944 production. This is a size medium. A very interesting combat tunic!
