WWII USAAF Captain Tunic-This set is for a captain in the Army Air Force who also earned the China Burma India shoulder patch. It is a private purchase tunic that is in fine condition and produced in a very soft tan cotton blend. There is very minor wear and discoloration. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. The breast pockets are pleated and the hip pockets are internal. There is a four button closure and all buttons are gilt finished in the military style. The shoulder straps have metal captain bars. The lapels have the metal “U.S.” ciphers along with the gold wings and silver propeller of the USAAF. The left sleeve have a fantastic, hand embroidered bullion USAAF shoulder patch. Above the left breast pocket is a ribbon bar plus a set of hand embroidered bullion pilot wings. The ribbon bar has from left to right the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster x 2 plus the American Pacific Campaign ribbon with two stars. The interior is partially lined in gold rayon. The right side has a pocket with a tailor tag that reads Vic Hanney Co., Phoenix, Arizona. It is a size large. Very good condition overall!
