Allgemeine SS Other Ranks Visor Cap-This is a handsome, early example dated 1936. The body is black tricot woven wool and it is extremely clean. There is some wear/tracking right above the eagle as well as a few extremely small nips in other various places. These are all minor. The white piping seen around the underside of the top panel as well as at the upper and lower edges of the black badge cloth center band is fully intact. There is a very small spot of tracking on the center band. The insignia is original to the cap. Each piece is produced in cupal with a nickel silver finish that has toned and remains partially intact. These look fantastic! The chin strap is black patent leather and it is tightly affixed by a pair of black finished buttons. The black vulkanfibre visor has lots of crazing but it remains very clean and still has a glossy finish. The underside is lightly crosshatched, finished in an orange brown hue and has the RZM black ink stamp. The top panel of the interior is lined in orange brown oil cloth. The gold stenciled SS runes are present and mostly intact. The size is stamped in gold, 55. The moisture shield is missing but the awesome black cloth “Reichsführer SS” tag is present and in great condition. There is a name (possibly two) written onto the lining in pencil. The sweatband is orange brown leather. It is in fine condition, remaining fully intact and still soft and supple. The orange foam pad at the forehead is missing but its remnants are visible. The underside of the sweatband has a bold ink stamp that reads “HB.36” and the size is also repeated, 55. This has the earliest type of RZM tag underneath, a huge white example with handwritten info plus the makers assigned number, 195 for Heinrich Wille. The tag says “Serie 1” as well. It is correctly stapled into the cap. This is an untouched, textbook example of an early style Allgemeine SS visor cap!
