Award Document for KVKII with Swords-This is a later war example, dated 9 September 1943 and give to Güterbodenarbeiter Heinrich Hüffmeier of Keil. The document has been folded for a long time and the crease marks are pretty substantial. There is wear to the edges and corners as well. Our crack researcher Tom M provided us with the following information relevant to the recipient:
Heinrich HUFFMEIER was a “goods floor worker” (literal translation). He likely worked at Kiel Hauptbahnhof (Kiel railway station) in a freight shed/warehouse, handling general cargo or goods. It looks like an autopen (facsimile) signature for Hans GROSSKREUTZ.
Also see the photos for a pic of the railway station in May of 1945, it was extensively bombed in 1943.
Overall sound condition!
