German De-NAZIFIED Waffen SS Belt Buckle Marked RODO-This is a wartime buckle made out of steel in “as found” condition. It retains approx. 55% of its original finish. This buckle has been denazified. This could be because the veteran continued to wear this buckle after the war. It might also have been worn by a W-SS POW. Of course we can’t be certain. The roll bar and prongs are steel. The catch end is marked RODO for the maker, Robert Dold, Offenburg which is the most desirable maker. Two distinct characteristics of the RODO buckle are the excessively large pin head on the roll bar (top) and very neat, small maker lettering. Both of these are quite apparent on this example. Again, this is in “as found” condition, so please be sure to look closely at the photos. Scarce and very desirable!
