German WWI Postcard of Hans Hartwig von Besseler-von Besseler was a German general and military engineer who oversaw the conquest of several fortresses early in the war. He was then named commander of German-occupied Poland, a post he held until the end of the war. The photo measures 5 ½ inches (13.97cm) long and 4 ½ inches (11.43cm) wide. The reverse is well marked, including a great looking imperial eagle on the reverse. The reverse is setup in the postcard style, is well marked, and very clean.
