German WWII 1938 May Day Tinnie-May Day is a huge celebration in many countries in Europe, and Germany is no exception. May Day was a day for rallies and celebrations. This tinnie was issued by the NSDAP to celebrate "Tag der Arbeit" (National Labor Day / May Day) on May 1, 1938. These were widely distributed across Germany to members of the working class and the general public during state-mandated rallies and festivities. The obverse features a man and a woman dancing under a traditional maypole umbrella. Below them sits a prominent national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika, flanked by the inscription "1. Mai 1938". The details are excellent. The reverse has a horizontal pin that functions as intended. This is nicely maker marked for Deschler.
