German WWII 1st Model RLB Subordinate Dagger by E. & F. Hörster-This is a very rare dagger to find today. This 1st model subordinate’s RLB dagger is in very good condition. The nickel silver fittings on the pommel and crossguard are 95% in place, and have a nice matte, silver tone. The gorgeous art deco eagle on the crossguard shows only light wear. The wooden handle retains nearly all of its original black enameled paint. There are a few old scuffs, but this is just normal wear and not a distraction. The 1st model RLB sunburst emblem on the handle is excellent. It is a tight fit to the handle and has a terrific tone to the burnished silver. The blue enamel on the RLB script and the swastika is in place and also excellent. This is such a cool looing emblem! The black painted scabbard shows a few scratches, and some missing paint in spots, but again, this seems to be from normal use. Please be sure to see the photos. The silver fittings on the scabbard very good. They retain the majority of their nickel silver finish and remain dent free. The blade is very good. It does show a few deeper scratches throughout so please see photos.  The reverse of the blade shows the E. & F. Hörster logo. This comes with a black leather hanger that is excellent. The fittings retain nearly all of their original finish, and the snap clip is marked for F.W. Assmann DRGM. This is a very rare dagger to find, and this example is in very good condition overall.
