German WWII 2nd Model DAK Tropical Pith Helmet-This 2nd model pith helmet is a choice example and is textbook in every way. This has a green felt cover that is very clean, with no moth damage at all. The green leather trim shows slight scuffing from age and storage, but is in place and overall looks very good. The chinstrap is in place. This cap has both shields, which retain the majority of their original color and finish. The inside of this cap is excellent. The red felt lining is clean and damage free. The light brown leather sweatband is in place and looks very good. This sweatband is stamped for the maker JHS, Johann Hückel's Söhne, who was a prominent hat manufacturer based in Neutitschein, Czechoslovakia (Sudetenland). This cap is a size 56. It is dated 1942 under the sweatband. This is an excellent example in choice condition.
