German WWII 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dagger by Eickhorn-The fittings on this example retain nearly all of their original gold gilt. The details to the eagle are excellent. The white celluloid grip handle is in very good condition showing only slight crazing on the reverse. The bronze wire grip wrap is excellent. The lightning bolt scabbard is very good as well. The locking mechanism is a bit tight and takes a strong push to release the blade. The finish looks good, though it has toned in certain areas. There is a slight indentation about half way up from the tip on the reverse. This is not uncommon for these navy daggers. The double engraved blade is excellent. You can see the later, post 1941 Eickhorn squirrel logo on the reverse of the blade just below the crossguard. The leather buffer is in place under the crossguard. Priced to sell!
