German WWII Army Buckle w/ Leather Tab-This is an interesting buckle by a rare maker. This buckle is made of aluminum. It shows heavy wear to the eagle, motto and wreath. The eagle has almost no detail remaining to his feathers. This has a great matte silver tone. Some finish remains in the lowest details giving this a nice, burnished look. The pebbling on the field really stands out. More of the original finish remains on the reverse. This buckle is marked on the reverse for V H & Co. for V. Hofe & Company of Lüdenscheid. This has a brown leather tab that is also marked and dated 1939 for the V. Hofe Co. This is a maker that we do not see very often. This buckle is worn but still looks good if you like that “been there done that” look.
