German WWII Army EM Tropical Buckle with Canvas Tab-This is very unusual as this is a shiny silver nickel army buckle with a green canvas tab. As you know you could never wear this in combat as the sun would hit this buckle making you a huge target. We have never seen one like this. This would most likely be used for parade dress, or possibly by a standard bearer. The silver plate on this buckle is intact on the front but is missing in some spots on the reverse. The reverse is also marked with “GB” under the catch for Gustav Brehmer. The canvas tab is perfectly machine applied and it absolutely original to the buckle. Therefore, this buckle was silver plated during production and has never been separated from the tropical canvas tab! This is a very interesting anomaly, and overall a great looking buckle.
