German WWII Army Infantry Private Purchase Other Ranks Visor Cap-As found This private purchase example is produced in soft, field gray wool in a classic teller shape. There are moderate moth holes on the top, and rim of the cap. Please see pics. The white infantry piping is fully intact with minor discoloration. The center band is dark green badge cloth and has several moth holes throughout. The insignia is zinc, with most of the finish present on the cockade and wreath and eagle. The chinstrap is black leather and fully intact. The visor is black vulkanfibre and solidly attached. The underside is tan, and crosshatched. There is moderate discoloration on the underside of the visor. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon. It has discoloration and moderate wear. There was a moisture shield, but it is missing. You can see the maker nomenclature, but it is heavily worn, and very faded making it unreadable. The sweatband is tan ersatz. It has a significant amount of wear and is fragile. It has become unattached from the cap in certain places. The cap is a size 58. Again, this is in “as found” condition.
