German WWII Army Officer’s Dagger by Eickhorn-This is the complete set. This army officer’s dagger has a pommel and crossguard that retains the majority of its toned nickel silver finish. This has a nice darker patina that allows the details to really stand out. There is some slight finish loss to the reverse of the crossguard, so please see photos. The pumpkin orange celluloid handle is excellent, free from crazing or any cracking. The leather buffer is in place under the crossguard. The pebbled scabbard is also excellent, with a darker tone that matches the upper dagger fittings. The scabbard is dent free including the tip. The Eickhorn marked blade is excellent. You can still see the factory cross graining. Eickhorn’s squirrel logo can be seen on the reverse of the blade, under the crossguard. This comes complete with its original set of hangers, and a silver bullion officer’s knot. The hangers are very good, with the silver and brown flat wire straps being in very good shape. The buckles and slides retain the majority of their toned silver finish. The reverse of the straps has a olive green velvet that is free of moth damage. They are very good. The snap clips retain their finish and have a handsome pebbled finish. The silver bullion officer’s knot is excellent. It is still bright and shiny silver and shows no fraying whatsoever. This is an excellent set that has always been together!
