German WWII Army Officer’s Dagger-This is an unmarked dagger in excellent condition. Approx 20% of these army daggers were unmarked. This is beautifully plated, with nickel silver fittings that retain the majority of their finish. The pommel cap and crossguard have a dark patina. The details to the army eagle on the crossguard and leaves on the pommel are also excellent. The yellow celluloid handle is in very good condition. It shows no crazing or cracking but is slightly loose as the celluloid has shrunk over time, which does loosen it slightly. The leather buffer remains in place under the crossguard. The toned silver finish on the pebbled scabbard remains in place. It has toned to a darker color that matches the upper fittings. This gives this dagger a nice look. The detailing of the scabbard fittings really stand out. The details on the reverse of the scabbard show the slightest wear where this dagger has rubbed against the tunic over time. The scabbard does have the appropriate hanger rings in place. The scabbard is dent free. The unmarked blade is excellent. You can see slight runner marks, but you can also see faint factory cross graining. This is full excellent overall.
