German WWII Canteen with Bakelite Cup-Very good example of a field canteen, with a brown felt cover over the aluminum body. This example has the black bakelite cup. The black smooth leather straps are intact and in good shape. The brown felt covering is in beautiful shape. It has nice nap and shows no mothing. All of the snaps are in place and functional. The steel fittings are also intact and excellent. The buckle retains the majority of its black paint, and the snap clip is perfect with 100% of its green finish remaining. The bakelite cup is present and nicely marked with the MPD code F7/S indicating the maker (F7 is still currently an unknown maker) and the “S” stands for the material “phenolic resin” (bakelite) with sawdust filler. The bakelite screw cap is in place. This is a very good example!
