German WWII Cased Iron Cross 1st Class 1939- This is a very good example. The black finish on the iron core is 90% intact but there is some lifting and fading. You can see slight corrosion bubbles seen just under the paint, so please look closely at the photos. The silver frame is still nice and shiny. The reverse of the badge retains the majority of its silver. The pin setup functions as it should. The case is very good. The image of the iron cross on the top of the lid is there, but slightly faded. The black pebbled case shows only slight wear. There is some slight fading to the black color, but minimal scuffing. The case lock works as it should. The inside of the case is lined with off white flocking, velvet on the bottom and a silk like rayon under the top lid. A good example.
