German WWII Dove Head Army Officer’s Sword by E. Pack & Söhne-This is a very handsome sword. It is an early brass example. The black celluloid handle with brass twisted grip wire is in excellent condition. The brass fittings on the pommel and guard have toned to a nice dark bronze color, that complements the black of the handle. This has a lightly embellished “P” guard that gives this an ornate look. The details to the oak leaf motif on both the “P” guard and crossguard are excellent. The black painted scabbard looks near excellent; there are several scuffs throughout the scabbard and the very tip has lost its finish. It is free of dents. This is a long sword as it measures 37 inches (93.98cm) in length with a blade that measures 30 ½ inches (77.47cm) long. The blade is very good. The E. Pack logo can be seen on the reverse, just under the crossguard. This has a beautiful knot that has been with this sword forever. A very nice sword for anyone’s collection.
