German WWII Early SA Dagger by F. Dick-This early example is quite handsome. The beautiful warm brown wooden handle is in very good condition. The nickel silver grip eagle is tight to the handle. It shows excellent tone and nice details. The Sa runic button is sound but there is green verdigris around the lower edges of the button which we have not attempted to clean up. The matte nickel silver fittings on the crossguard and pommel are near excellent. They retain the majority of their finish. These show some slight green verdigris as well. The reverse of the crossguard is marked for the SA Gruppe “Sw” which indicates Südwest. The anodized scabbard looks good though there are several scuffs to the finish, and the ball tip is quite flattened and split. Please see the photos to see the damage to the ball seam. The blade is excellent. The “Alles für Deutschland” motto is deeply etched. The blade shows obvious factory cross graining and only light in and out marks. The F. Dick logo can be seen on the reverse of the blade, just below the crossguard. This comes complete with a nice short brown leather dagger hanger that is also in very good condition. This is excellent overall.
