German WWII First Model Luftwaffe Transitional Dagger by Krebs-This has a transitional period aluminum chain. The dagger fittings are nickel silver over brass and have a nice dark patina throughout. The brass color in the inlaid sunwheel swastikas on both the pommel and the crossguard is mostly missing. The blue Moroccan leather handle has the toned, triple wire wrap. The handle leather is excellent. The blue Moroccan leather-bound scabbard is in very good condition with very little scuffing and only a few indentations. The fittings on the scabbard look very good but the lower fitting is slightly loose as one screw is missing. The tip on the end of the scabbard is undented.  The Krebs marked blade is very good!  You can see the Krebs logo at the top. It shows the usual in and out marks but is overall excellent. The leather buffer is still intact under the cross guard. The aluminum chain represents the beginning of the transition of this style dagger with the combination of parts being used. The clip on the reverse of the hanger is nicely marked with the Overhoff & Cie logo, and Ges.gesch.  Overall, this dagger is in very good condition.
