German WWII Framed Painting of Werner Mölders -This is a painting that someone has made of the Luftwaffe pilot ace, Wener Mölders. This painting is based on the famous postcard of the same image. This small painting measures 8 ¼ inches (20.95cm) long, and approx. 7 ¼ inches wide, and a total of 10 ½ inches (26.67cm) long and 9 ½ inches (24.13cm) wide when in its frame. This silver wooden frame has an edge that is approx. 1 ¼ inches (3.17cm) wide. This is a small hook on the reverse for hanging. Mölders was personally awarded the Knights cross with oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. He was the very first recipient of this decoration. He won this award just after he surpassed the 100 aerial victories breaking records. This photo was taken in July of 1941, just months before Mölders would be killed as a passenger in a plane crash in November of 41. An interesting piece of history.
