German WWII General Assault Badge for 25 Days Engagement by JFS- A rare, near perfect offering with textbook JFS characteristics. This badge has better than 90% of the silver and grey combined finish. The details to the eagle and wreath are excellent. This is nicely marked on the right side reverse with JFS, for Josef Feix & Söhne, of Gablonz, which is a very desirable maker. This is a beautiful badge!
History: On June 22, 1943, grades were introduced ("25", "50", "75", and "100") to recognize soldiers who continued accumulating combat days far beyond the initial 3-day requirement. The "50" grade required the recipient to have participated in 50 separate combat assaults on 50 different days.
