German WWII Heer Army Burlap Ration Grain Sack-This is heavy burlap sack. This is the standard issue brown burlap Heer ration grain sack, which measures approx. 43 inches (109 cm) high, and 27 ½ inches (969.85 cm) wide. A steady supply of food was of utmost importance to any fighting force, and these sacks were the preferred way of transporting grain. This bag has a large stenciled Wehrmachtadler (Armed forces eagle) on the obverse. On the reverse is a stamp with H. Vpfl. 1942. The initials are for Heeres Verpflegung, or "Army Rations". This bag is in fair condition. It has a good sized tear on top a few holes and some have repairs. An interesting collectible.
